Notable Puebloan will be part of Medal of Honor

The Central 10
Jeff Chostner, one of
Pueblo’s County Commissioners, author and retired Air Force
Colonel, has written a book about his father’s – and other
young men from Pueblo – experiences in World War II. The
book is titled Pueblo Sailor: The Wartime
Correspondence of Keith Chostner.
Chostner will visit the InfoZone on
Thursday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m., to discuss his book, as
well as the intertwined story of the nine young men – called
the Central 10 – from Pueblo Central High School who
enlisted with his father. Refreshments will be provided.

The movie
The Thin Red Line, based on a
novel of the same name written by James Jones, will be shown
at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17 as part of the
InfoZone’s Book to Movie Club. The film tells the story of
Army Rifle Company C in the battle of Guadalcanal. The
horrors of war forms the soldiers into a tight-knit group,
their emotions develop into bonds of love and even family.
The reasons for this war get further away until their
fighting is for mere survival
